Model Contest
Participate in a contest where you can show off your model building skills. Prizes will be awarded in several categories at the close of the convention. To participate in the contest, you will have to register to attend the convention.
Rules for Model Contest
There will be one ballot per name badge which will be included with the Welcome Packet. Each ballot will allow the person to pick one entry in each of the categories below. Popular vote will determine the winner in each of the following categories:

Engines: Diesel, Electric, Steam

Rolling Stock
-
Structures
-
Diorama
-
Railroad-iana (craft items)
-
3D Printing

Photo (garden railroad only)

Best of Show
Entries must be submitted Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the convention hall. The models will open for viewing Thursday, after the Ice Cream Social, and Friday until 3:00 p.m. when the models can be picked up before the Banquet that evening.

Entries can be of any scale; they are not limited to G-scale.

Entries that have won a similar contest in a previous National Garden Railway Convention are not eligible to win in this contest.

The entrant must have done the modeling work himself/herself.

You may place a small description of your model with your entry, but no reference to the model builder.

The Best of Show will be awarded to the entry that received the most Best of Show votes. The model that wins Best of Show will not be eligible to win first place in any category into which it was entered (only one prize per model). The entry that receives the second most votes in that category will win that category.

The entrant agrees to release Sacramento Garden Railroad Society, NGRC, Convention Center, and volunteer personnel from any liability due to damage or loss of the entry.
The ballot box will be located in the model display area in the Convention Hall and will be locked at all times.
