Convention Banquet
Friday, June 20, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
The Banquet will be held in the world renowned California State Railroad Museum. The barbeque dinner will be served in the roundhouse. Doors will open for banquet attendees only at 6:00 p.m. giving you an hour to visit the first and third floors of the museum prior to dinner at 7:00 p.m. The museum will remain open for your viewing pleasure until 9:00 p.m.
Guest Speaker: Bret Iwan
Our guest speaker is Bret Iwan, the official voice of Mickey Mouse, Disney Artist, and Restorer. Becoming the iconic character's fourth official voice in 2009 (a role first performed by Walt Disney himself), Bret Iwan has lent his famous falsetto to television series, theme parks, toys, games, marketing campaigns, and more. Voice acting is among Bret's numerous creative talents, having begun his career as an illustrator and designer - skills he continues to call upon. Bret also runs his own small business, Bungalow Modern, specializing in vintage home, furniture, and antique vehicle restoration. Pursuing a passion for steam locomotives and railroading, Bret joined the Ghost Town & Calico Railroad team at Knott's Berry Farm, from 2018 - 2019. Bret has also been a longtime friend and creative consultant of the Nevada Northern Railroad in Ely, Nevada. In 2021 Bret acquired the former Anacortes Railway equipment, which was built and operated by the late Thomas G. Thompson, Junior. Since then, the Iwan family has worked to bring new life to the legacy of Tommy Thompson through various restoration efforts, with the goal of establishing a private railway for the equipment to once again by enjoyed.
